Note: To ensure the highest quality, most efficient
results, follow the guidelines below before submitting your file for output.
|
 |
| 1. |
Fax or mail current laser copies.
To avoid discrepancies between your design and the final
output, always fax or mail a current laser sample of the intended
outcome. Faxes should be sent to 208-345-5740. This will ensure that the file has been successfully
transferred from your computer to ours, and that your
text, graphics, and fonts turn out precisely the way you
want. |
| 2. |
Complete the scanning
& imaging work order. To make sure your project
flows through the production process smoothly, download and complete
our scanning & imaging work order. Mail or fax the work order
along with your laser proof to 208-345-5740. The work order
is a valuable tool and helps us complete your job with
accuracy and correctness. |
| 3. |
Submit a working file that includes the correct color separation and sizing.
Clearly label all files submitted.
|
|
|
On-Line Graphics supports the following programs:
QuarkXpress
Adobe Illustrator
Macromedia Freehand
Adobe Photoshop
CorelDraw
Pagemaker
|
| 4. |
Provide fonts, both screen and printer, to ensure document integrity.
To avoid discrepancies with fonts, convert all text to outlines.
|
| 5. |
Check your images thoroughly.
Check your image carefully, ensuring that the image size, resolution, and color are correct and appropriate
for the desired output size.
|
| 6. |
On-line Graphics will not alter client files without client authorization.
So you maintain complete control over the desired output, all jobs are imaged directly from the file you
provide.
|
| 7. |
Do it right the first
time! Remember, our goal at IBF Group is to give
you the highest quality products and services at competitive
prices. With this in mind, we've provided the following
tips to help you avoid costly, time-consuming errors that
can result from inaccurate files. Carefully following
our guidelines and tips will prevent the most common problems
from occurring. |
|
Helpful tips for all applications:
|
|
|
System Folder fonts are not usable fonts
for PostScript output. Use Adobe or PostScript Type
1 fonts. |
|
Light and Extra Light typefaces are sometimes too light and will not show. |
|
Using font shortcuts or "styling" can cause errors. For example, choose Helvetica Bold from the font
list, rather than choosing Helvetica and clicking the Bold shortcut.
|
|
Provide all screen and printer fonts for the file and graphics to avoid discrepancies between font
versions. |
|
Do not use fonts for ruling. Draw an actual rule no less than .5 point width. |
|
Make sure to link graphic files correctly. |
|
If graphics contain nested elements, make sure that all original illustration and graphics files
(EPS or TIFF—including the nested graphics) are included. |
|
Provide a hard copy—a composite and separations—for verification. |
|
Use tabs instead of the spacebar for separating text or indenting. |
|
Always use proper file import methods to establish external links. Using the Edit menu to cut and paste
graphic files will yield a product that differs from the expected results. |
|
Set up the file with the actual Pantone spot colors to be printed. |
|
To ensure color continuity when working with multiple software programs, make sure all spot colors
are assigned the exact correct name in each program. To the computer system, PANTONE 200 CVU is not
the same color as PANTONE 200 CV. In addition, avoid using the default color spots, such as red,
green, and blue that appear in the color menu of most page layout software. |
|
When creating a gradient in two or more colors, make sure they are the actual Pantone spot colors to be
printed. Choose None or 0% of the Pantone color instead of white. |
|
No trap settings are preferred. |
|
Do not use LZW compression. |
