| Learn More About Printer Ribbons |
Full-color ribbons can print anywhere from 100 cards to 400 cards, depending upon the printer model and ribbon type. Single-color ribbons often print up to 1,000 cards, assuming single-side printing.
Generally, full-color ribbons include panels of cyan, magenta, and yellow. Many ribbons also include a clean overlay panel and/or one or two black panels. The black panel or panels are used when very dark black images or Bar Codes are required, especially for infrared Bar Code manufacture. Two black panels are used when black is needed on both sides of the card.
Printer manufacturers use the letters C (cyan), M (magenta), Y (yellow), K (black), and O (overlay) to abbreviate the order of ribbon configurations. Common configurations include YMCOK, YMCO, YMCK, and YMCKOK.
Over-laminates Some printers can add lamination to cards, providing greatly increased durability, as well as added security features such as holograms. Please call or e-mail for information on how to order over-laminates or for custom options.
