Fargo Plastic Card Printers

Fargo’s personal line of printers includes direct-to-card (DTC) and Cardjet printers. Their professional line includes Cardjet, DTC, and the HDP (High-Definition Printing) line of printers. Available options include double-side printing, magnetic stripe and smart card encoding, and lamination.
Fargo’s plastic card personalization systems include a holder for blank cards, either a full-color or single-color ribbon, and an output hopper to catch completed cards. The cards are printed with a very high-quality 300DPI thermal print head, and some models can also laminate the cards for added durability. Fargo’s Persona series of printers includes the C7 CardJet, the newest type of card printer. The C11 and C16 printers both offer full-color or monochrome printing for low-volume card production. The C25 printer offers full-color printing with more options than the other models.
The Professional series of card printers starts with the DTC500, which features full-color or monochrome ribbons, dual-side printing, and the option of adding a laminator for the DTC525 model. The HDP800 series (High Definition Printing) of printers offers even higher-quality print, because they print onto a film which is then bonded to the plastic card for increased image quality and durability. These printers also can laminate the cards after printing. Both of these professional series printers offer added security features, such as SmartGuard and lamination with holographic images. The CardJet 410 offers a professional version of the newest type of card printing technology, bonding ink to the surface of specially formulated cards for full-color, photo-quality images.

Card Stock Standard card stock is CR-80 (2.11 by 3.36 inches), in either PVC or a polycarbonate/PVC blend with a wide variety of colors and thicknesses. Other sizes are also available.
