Handheld Scanners Prized for their flexibility and low cost, handheld scanners are the most popular type of Bar Code scanner on the market. Often called “tethered scanners,” these scan guns have a cable connecting them to the PC or hardware being used. IBF Group offers two different types of handheld scanners to meet your needs: the CCD imaging scanner and the laser scanner.
Wands For low-volume Bar Code scanning, a wand connected to a handheld terminal, laptop, or desktop PC provides a lightweight, easy-to-store scanning solution. However, if you do a lot of fast-paced scanning, you may be happier with one of the other types of scanners. |
| |
Mounted Scanners For maximum speed and efficiency in assembly line or retail settings, choose a mounted scanner. As the name suggests, these scanners are fixed in place, and the user moves the item to be scanned past the scan gun. Most mounted scanners feature laser technology, but IBF Group does also offer some mounted CCD scanners. |
| |
Terminal Scanners These all-in-one devices both scan and store data and sometimes also run applications, allowing the user to roam freely. Elsewhere, you may see similar scanners referred to as “handheld scanners” or “portable computers.” Many of the terminal scanners offered by IBF Group can use wireless technology to connect to a computer network. |
